Student’s Placement
GNIMS has an excellent on-campus placement record. It has a preferred partner status with 200+ corporates. Recruiters have collaborated with GNIMS on live projects, internships and research initiatives, thus creating several Pre-Placement Offers (PPO’s). ICICI Bank Ltd, GEP, Drip Capital, Berger Paints India Ltd, Primetals Technologies, Siemens Ltd, Sulzer Pumps Ltd, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, Aditya Birla Capital, Byjus (Think & Learn Pvt Ltd), ACC Ltd and many more companies have been regular recruiters from GNIMS.
Placement
Despite the pandemic in the academic year 2021-22, 96% students were placed on campus. The highest salary package was of Rs.10 lakh per annum and the average salary package was of Rs.4.75 lakhs per annum. We placed 100% students with specializations in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource through Campus Placement. The good placement record of GNIMS is mainly due to the vigorous placement processes and up-skilling, which includes industry analysis, personal SWOT analysis, resume building, corporate preparations, mock GD/PI, aptitude test, communication activities and guest lectures by Industry Professionals.

Placements is a concern to everyone from parents to students who take up an MBA course because they all are worried about future; the return on investment and the kind of jobs and salary packages this degree would lead to them. Sometimes, questions about placement and confusion cultivate in the minds of students, but in the absence of clarity on doubts, many times it invites trouble. Hence, students must ‘ask’ questions. How many Companies usually visit during Campus Placements?
Number of Companies visiting the campus for Summer Internship and final placement each year on an average is 135.
When does the Summer Internship and final Placement Activity begin?
Summer Internship selection process starts from December and ends by mid-April. Internship in industry is for eight weeks in May and June.Similarly, the final placement season starts from July every year and ends by March.
What help extended to the students for placements?
The CDC of GNIMS works from first to final year students developing them in addition to academic inputs, skill-sets required to perform various jobs in industry. It consists of, specially designed “Employability Skills” program, which provide learning from Resume building, Job Preparation, Mock-Interviews, GD-PI, Aptitude/Functional Tests, Communication skills, practical inputs by Industry professionals, Industry Live Projects, Internship, Industry visits, participation in University level competitions, and so on.
What is the placement procedure?
It begins with registration of students who need job placement from campus. Institute has Student’s Placement Policy, which is explain to students for better understanding and smooth functioning of entire process. CDC announces requirements of companies and invite response from students. Thereafter, pre-placement talks take place. Students apply for the company after going through the job descriptions as well requirements of the company. The resumes are sent to the company. Preliminary screening process and shortlisting candidates arranged by company. Thereafter, the selection process on campus/off campus takes place which includes Written tests, Group discussion, Personal interview, as per the need. Further, the results are announced and document submission as per requirement completed by students. Company issue offers to selected students and joining schedule.

Are there any academic criteria for Placement eligibility?
Yes, one must have first class in all semesters, no ATKT/backlog, to get eligible to apply with MNCs and large companies. Also, companies impose eligibility criteria for their prospective employees such as stream, subjects, past academic record, present academic record, certifications, awards and recognitions etc. Eligibility certainly includes good moral conduct and character as no company or institute would like misbehaved students in the placement process.
What amenities/infrastructure are available for a placement process on campus?
The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art physical, communication and computing infrastructure to facilitate a smooth placement process. Computing, projection facilities for multimedia presentations; telecommunication facilities for teleconferencing and video-conferencing; seminar rooms and presentation halls for Interview process are available.
What type of companies should I apply for?
The type of company that you want to apply for should first in line with your specialization, industry of interest, capabilities and values. There shouldn’t be a conflict between your and company’s value system. For that information please consult CDC team. Further, understand the job roles, kind of work, salary package, working hours, the profile as well company demands.Remember, no company is good or bad, everything depends on our outlook.
Which stream should I take for a better placement?
While doing the course, you gradually know your inclination as to which stream or kind of work excites you and what you would like to do for at least next five years of your career life. Each subject leads to certain type of jobs and all jobs pertain to certain stream.Mixing of streams is advisable if one wants to bring in a balance. Sticking to one stream is good if one wants a core job in that area. There is no as such formula that marketing stream will get low packages than finance or vice-versa. Placement is a function of your knowledge, skills, awareness, willingness to work, agility, flexibility, experience etc. Remember the stream will stick to you for life, whereas the first job may be not!
What kind of salary packages do companies offer?
Companies inform the CDC about what salary packages they would offer for what position and location. These packages are in tune with the industry standards and abide to government norms and guidelines. Generally, the salary package includes performance pay, benefits, bonus plans etc. A good package is one where you feel that the company is paying you worth for the effort it asks you. Remember, being the fresher and first job, you have to avoid bargaining during the selection process for the location and salary package. In actual cases students get rejected for their bargaining habits.
Is there a fee for placement?
Institute provides student’s placement assistance free of cost. It is a matter of honor and pride for the institute that their students get jobs before their final degree.
Is there any bond that I need to sign before joining the company?
Most companies do not ask you to sign bonds with them for working a certain period of time. However, it depends on job profile, training investment and company policy.
It is good to gather information and estimate the future, but one must remember that placement largely depends on the economic situation of the country, recession or expansion of business cycle etc. Recession would mean less jobs and lower salary packages while expansion will mean the opposite. Hence, placement should be viewed as an opportunity to select the best suitable job in the present economic situation and not the only criteria to choose or reject a particular institute.
