Introduction to the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)
The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program launched by the Government of India to empower higher education institutions to contribute to the sustainable development of rural India. Under this initiative, SGPC’s Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies (GNIMS) adopted five villages in the Roha Region of Raigad, Maharashtra: Talavali, Chilhe, Dhankanhe, Devkanhe, and Bahe. The visit aimed to assess the developmental needs of these villages and design sustainable solutions through technological interventions, community engagement, and improved practices.
The Primary Objectives :
·To understand the basic infrastructural and social issues faced by the villagers.
·To interact with the community and gather insights into their challenges and needs.
·To identify opportunities for improvement in sectors like education, sanitation, and other social sectors.
