“ReVibe 2019 : ReBond ForEver” (A GNIMS Alumni Meet)
January 12, 2019 @ 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM
The GNIMS Alumni Meet was like most of the alumni meets, full of nostalgia, entertainment…and of course much more. GNIMS – Once a place where today’s entrepreneurs, business professionals and reputed Industry executives sat under one roof assimilating knowledge & learnings from their well-experienced professors while dreaming about their future, was flooded in on Saturday by its alumni for celebrating the Institute’s 17 years of success in nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among its MBA students. There was a jubilant atmosphere of homecoming encompassing the Multi-purpose hall of the new GNIMS building. The GNIMS Alumni Association (GAA) Support Team volunteers were rushing here and there, looking after the requisites for the event – registering the alumni, providing them with their gift bags as mementos, escorting them to their seats as per the batch wise arrangements; all while executing their management skills imbibed at the institute.

The dignitaries lighted the lamp, the soothing music of an old song (I believe in yesterday – Beatles) played in the background, taking the alumni present for a stroll through the memory lane of those golden days of college. The traditional prayer song “Deh Shiva bar Mohe” made the alumni nostalgic remembering their college days when they used to listen the same hymn during every event.

The event proceeded with the Director Sir’s address to the alumni on the updates about GNIMS since past few years, the wide array of courses started by the Institute and appealed the alumni to stay in touch with the alma matter and strengthen the bonding.

An Institute can rise to greater heights or tumble down by the sheer power of its alumni. Therefore, GNIMS took a historic decision of establishing an independent alumni association for the mutual benefit of its Alumni, Students and the Institute as a whole. The GAA committee members made an important presentation informing the alumni about the whole formation process, vision & objectives, and the future for the association.

The highlight of this magnificent event was the felicitation of the 1st batch for successful completion of 15 years by Dr. D. Y. Patil Sir & shout outs for rest of the batches (2003 to 2016). An array of short emotional speeches was displayed during this ceremony making everyone smile and teary eyed at the same time.

As the event progressed, someone from each batch started sharing their experiences. Some of the Institute’s faculty being the alumni also shared their thoughts on the same. Prof. Kapil Bhopatkar from 2008 MMS-Finance Batch stated humorously that he was so much in love with the institute that he has never left and has remained a part of it since so long.

The evening was filled with music and amplifying its beauty was the bollywood & hip-hop style dance performances.
