VIRSA 2016: “Junoon – The Passion of Superhero”

Virsa meaning Heritage is our endeavor to preserve the rich cultural and Social Heritage of the Country. Annual Management and Cultural Festival “Virsa 2016 was held on 27th and 28th February 2016. The theme of the event this year was “Junoon – The Passion of Superhero”. The theme aims to glorify the vehement bravery, earnest devotion of superheroes from different arenas and their contribution for the betterment of the nation. GNIMS paid special tribute to the crusaders of the country that is Army, Navy and Air force Officers, also a tribute in recognition of the superheroes that we come across in our daily live. This theme not only celebrate their victory but also inculcate civic virtue amongst all.

Mr. Anami Narayan Roy (Former Director-General of Police, Maharashtra and Former Police Commissioner of Mumbai, currently Non-Executive Independent Director of HDFC Bank Ltd,) inaugurated the event. On the first day, Inter-collegiate management events like Business Plans, Still Photography, Mock Stock, Persuade to Win, An-dekha Funda, Open Forum, Shout Box and Amazing Race (Financial Treasure Hunt), Defuse the Bomb and also sports events were held, followed by DJ Wars in the evening. The Inter and Intra-cultural events took place on the Second day, along with the Mr. and Mrs. GNIMS 2016 contest.

Children form Society for Human and Environmental Development (SHED), an NGO, also performed at the fest. The chief Guest for the cultural events was Ms. Kiran Bawa (Partner & MD – Iosis Medi Spa) and Mr. Pearl V. Puri, (TV Actor from Phir Bhi Na Maane, Badtameez Dil and Meri Saau Ma) was the Guest of Honor. The evening concluded with Bhangra performance choreographed by Mr. Nitin Duggal.
